Lento, "slow" in Spanish, reflects the time and patience dedicated to hand crafting all-natural dyes in the mountains of Guatemala. With designs by Patrizia Pizzatti, Lento's contemporary accessories are made of cotton, 100% organically hand-dyed.
“Nature provides the materials, we design them” is Lento’s tagline. “Only plants, flowers, bark, and vegetable waste from the Lake Atitlan area, together with environmentally-friendly fixers are used to dye our fabrics and yarns. Using ancient Mayan expertise, the dyeing is hand-crafted by indigenous women. Each color is one of a kind and any imperfection is regarded as an expression of its character.”
